COMBAT DISCIPLINES - WHICH WEAPONS DO WE TEACH?
The European Certificate of Skilled Performance Combat scheme
currently offeres in-depth training in the following: -
Unarmed Combat
Dagger/Knife
Medieval Sword (Longsword/Broadsword)
Single-Rapier
Rapier & Dagger/Companion Weapon
Sticks & Staves
Smallsword
Improvised/Unconventional Weapons
Unlike other stage combat systems which tend to teach different weapon
systems for each qualification level they offer, the combat disciplines of
the ECSPC have been broken down into levels of in-depth training.
These levels coincide with the qualification level that the student is
working toward. For example; the single-rapier discipline has three
levels of training, each more difficult than the last.
Obvious the ability to use armed and unarmed combat skills on a stage
or screen is an important and integral part of performance combat
training. The ESCPC scheme ensures that students are also able to
improve their acting and stagecraft skills and are prepared mentally and
physically for the rigours of an acted fight routine.
