The ECSPC treats performance combat tuition like any other combat or martial art training by focusing on mechanics and techniques rather than just teaching a single extended fight routine “by-the-numbers” in the way that other organisations teach.  Students are taught how to consistently perform combat actions both in isolation and as part of a performance fight, improve balance and coordination, learn the skills of acted aggression and gain an understanding of how to link actions and choreograph dramatic fight routines. This Level-1-Basic course teaches: - Unarmed Combat. - Medieval Sword (Longsword/Broadsword). - Single-Rapier. The Level-1-Basic training syllabus includes: - - Understanding the importance of stance and footwork. - Balance and coordination development and improvement. - Mechanics and techniques of performance combat. - How to act the aggression and martial acting. - Training drills, forms and martial kata. - Team building skills and working with multiple opponents. - Linking actions and how to choreograph dramatic fight routines. - Understanding safety and risk assessment. - Basic armoury and maintenance of weapons and equipment. - Ancient to modern – the who’s who of histories fight masters An examination will be held at the end of the course where students will be expected to perform and link a range of performance combat techniques both in isolation and as part of a choreographed fight sequence.
