A good stage fight can be the highlight
of a scene or the exciting climax of a
show. Performed properly a stage
fight can bring an audience to the
edge of its seats, leave them
stunned into silence, have them
rolling in the aisles or cheering
for more. A stunning stage fight
can be the difference between
a good and a fantastic show.
From simple slaps and
pushes to complicated sword
fights and massed melees,
stage combat teaches the
necessary skills to safely recreate
scenes of violence for the benefit of staged and
screen productions.
Many stage combat courses
teach different weapons and combat
disciplines by getting students to repeat a
set sequence of moves which creates a
choreographed fight routine that makes up part of
a final examination performance. In many cases
these courses fail to name and teach individual
techniques.
STAGEFIGHT uses
a modular system
that ensures each
student gains a firm
understanding of
the weapon or
discipline being
studied. Each module
teaches correct posture, technique,
timing and application to ensure a full appreciation
of the weapons history and use. This approach
ensures that students fully understand how various
techniques are used and linked together to form
exciting, realistic and above all safe fight routines.
